07.14.08 --- i like animals and favor a few above the rest... one of those is the elephant.  they're smart, they're respectful and they do ritualistic things.  they are also very sensitive...

on the radio today, i heard a broadcast concerning jenny the elephant.  her cage mate of many years died.  when this happens, some elephants do not recover from their loss.  some elephants stop eating and also die, others become problematic.

the dallas zoo has decided to send her mexico, to be in a drive-thru park/zoo.  as she does not like vehicles, you can only imagine that something "not great" may occur.

there is an elephant sanctuary in tennessee which could and will take her instead.  it is larger, there would be other female elephants and she would not have to deal with any cars... but the dallas zoo still wishes to send her to the alternate venue.

there is an email campaign to convince the dallas city council to send her to the elephant sanctuary where she can be protected and cared for in a more specialized way.  they are keeping a tally of public response in making their decision.

03.02.08 --- recently, my cat orange (right) met phil's cat OJ (left).  the photos above are their first interaction.  orange used to live under my apartment building as a stray. this is his first interaction with another cat.  he doesn't take much interest in other animals but the two are getting along.

i am currently trying a new music facet. i am really honored to do it and have wanted try this for over 10 years now.  so, i am pleased but not exactly ready to share what it is.  i am learning much and feel like i am helping out in the process.

02.17.08 --- i haven't updated aynart.com or the photoblog for some time.  my friend tod recently gave me two projectors which need restoring but which afterward will allow me to watch some films i previously could not.  his choices were nearly psychic ones.
