--- HULDA @ The Luxurious Summit Club ---

"Hulda was born in Reykjavik, Iceland where singing is a vital part of everyday life. Some say she is the best thing that has happened to that far northern country of soft summers and icy winters.

She is a lady of unusual charm that easily captures an audience in a web of music as she smiles gently and strums the guitar. Hulda is a singer of sounds with mood, whether that mood be light and cheery or one of a lover far away. each song expresses her feeling at that moment and searches for a listener to appreciate that mood.

Certainly this album could have been called, "The Many Moods of Hulda", for here she has recreated the sounds heard live nightly at the Summit.

When we first discussed making the album the greatest problem was how to get the feeling of Hulda's moods, personality and voice quality on record. Could we duplicate her ability to tell a story of joy and sorrow the way she does nightly in the club?

After long hours of recording the songs, arranged by Jim Hintikka whose delicate touch on guitar adds much to this album, we believe it is all here under this cover photograph taken one evening as hulda sang in the fire room of the luxurious Summit Club in downtown Houston."

Recorded October 14, 1968 at Jones Studio-Houston

Produced by Jack Waite"
